  • Earth. Always has and always will. Loves it here.

  • OF COURSE, IDIOT!!!!!!!!

  • Yes. He’s been in dozens of commercials and campaigns for brands like Progressive, Holiday Inn, Geico, Converse, Fandango, Grandma’s Cookies and some more that he can’t currently think of!

  • Dude. Yes. This is his favorite thing to do in the world even though there’s usually very little money in it and he’s been advised he should put that energy towards TikTok.

He’s worked with premiere live entertainment companies like Spiegeworld (as one of the hosts of their hit show Absinthe) and with Cirque Du Soleil.

For more info on his live shows, go to piggy.website.

  • He sure does! He can host and also has extensive experience producing shows and corporate events. Get in touch and let’s sell out together.

  • As of this writing, he is represented o only commercially by the excellent BBR Agency. Their # is 323-852-9559

He doesn’t currently have a manager or theatrical or literary agents and is open to representation as long as you’re only suggestion isn’t “have you tried TikTok?”

  • It’s a silly and fun solo show John created and it was directed by Corey Podell.

It had saw a sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe festival two years in a row and earned John a Malcom Hardee Award Nomination for comic originality.

Mr. Chonkers was selected for the British Comedy Guide’s Top Pick of Fringe (2022) and received rave five-star reviews from The Scotsman and The Skinny. Reviewers called his word-of-mouth hit "a completely ridiculous and thoroughly enjoyable 50 minutes" (StageRaw) and "the best thing you'll see at Fringe" (TheSkinny).

It’s been performed in London, Los Angeles, New York, Austin TX and maybe that’s it? Feel like there’s a couple more places…

He’s still touring this show around and will continue until people stop coming.

  • Yes. Very much so!

  • Thank you for asking. Yes, he is.

He’s written sketches, TV pilots, short films, essays, and prose poems.

If you ask (doesn’t have to be nicely) he will reluctantly send you something

  • Usually Los Angeles. He can also be found working in a show in Las Vegas. Sometimes he is in the UK. Or at some random fringe festival doing whatever.

  • He just wants make his things with his friends. Ideally this will come with food and shelter.

  • Besides this website? Uhhh. Hmm. He has an Instagram: @johnrnorris

And he only uses his twitter/X to promote shows but here’s that: @mrjohnnorris

  • Unfortunately!

He trained at Groundlings, UCB and iO West.

  • Again, thanks for all these questions!

To expand and push his level of performance, he was led to the Idiot Workshop where he’s been working with John Gilkey and Wet The Hippo. He was an ensemble member in various shows WTH shows that defy conventional descriptions. Such as The Murge and The Invention of Language, and The Good Time, Great Time Game Show.

Due to the joy discovered working on these shows, he started teaching at the Idiot Workshop. He loves sharing his experience and little knowledg with all of the amazing people he’s met in classes.

  • He’s been working to integrate what he’s learned from the worlds of Clown, Idiot, Bouffon, and Performance Art into the container of more traditional comedy shows. Always looking to discover and create hybrid live events that aim to be bold/visceral/vulnerable/challenging while always remaining entertaining.

In addition to his Mr. Chonkers show and various ensemble shows, he also has a fondness for making insane and ill-advised one-off pop-culture spectacles like “Who Framed Roger Rabbit: A One Man Show” and “Austin Powers: The Final Mystery” and of course “Italian Long Nose Liar Boy”

  • No!!!!

  • :(

  • He’s technically trained and peformed for years under that title. He has now recently started calling himself an Absurdist Comedian.

    (but yes, he’s a clown.)

  • So many different performers and teachers who will give you their own answer.

On one hand, this clown explosion seems like it’s somewhat filling the void of where the Improv Comedy bubble burst.

At a rough estimate: 85% of shows billed as Clown involve some combination of getting naked on stage, making a huge mess with props and food, and bringing an audience member on stage/going into the crowd.

There’s nothing wrong with the above. John’s done ALL of it and may do it ALL again (not a threat). It’s just

It seems we (clowns) tend to do these things because it brings a desired effect and energy into the room. A feeling of excitement and risk. A raising of stakes. Danger! And that may be a part of a definition: Performers, thru a genuine honest vulnerability, taking the audience on a fun ride.

More and more people in our insane world are craving a Real Live Experience and not just having performances done “at them” but instead done “with them.” The Audience is participating in the show. Not necessarily in a literal way but they can participate with their energy sorry I just got so bored and I think I have to finish this later.

  • Once! It was fun!

  • John leads workshops and that info can be found at piggy.website!

  • No. Thats fucking disgusting.
